Christmas 2012

It's December 26, and yesterday was Christmas. So I'll start with Christmas eve first. I went out to have Macdonalds breakfast with my parents and my dog. And then we went out as a family to Shaw, Lido. Booked movie tickets for Jack Reaper earlier. Mmm the movie was complicated, but I enjoyed it thoroughly. Tom Cruise doesn't look that bad for 50 years old.

Walked around Orchard to see the Christmas decorations etc. And had dinner at Breeks Cafe.

It doesn't look very appealing but it was good!

Here are the handmade cards I did the night before. I went to print a few photos at Harvey Norman before I got home. Okay I couldn't really find anything to give my family, but cards are okay right?

Me frowning with a Christmas hat.
Annoying sister smiling. :-D

Okay here's a tip.

Do not visit any tourist attraction during festive seasons.

Sentosa was really crowded. We planned to visit the newly built aquarium which cost like $29 per ticket for an adult but the queue was really long. So we went to the Underwater World, and the queue moved so slowly! Like the whole day was practically just queueing up and visiting the washroom oh my goodness. My sister was like saying the day before, "who visits the aquarium during Christmas?". Now we know. So many people.

So here are some pictures I snapped.  (It isn't worth it, don't visit. It's boring and not really fascinating except for the jellyfish.)

Cute little worms.
More sea creatures.
I love this. The jellyfish looked so pretty.

So that's how my Christmas went. Not very interesting. So I'll have my dinner now, I'm starving. Goodbye!

Disney

I've got to admit something. I'm quite a huge Disney fan. I love the fairy tales that Disney has produced over the past 60 years or so. I love the amazing animations, enchanting list of characters, and not to mention the songs as well. I even have a Disney princess song album which was kept with me since I was younger than 5 years old.

Disney makes movies with lasting impressions in our hearts. Like lessons are also taught during the movies. It doesn't matter whether you're an adult or still a kid, it's part of your childhood, that's something you can't deny. You know, I've rewatched these classic Disney movies so many times (okay I get a little sick of it) but they are really good.

It all started with a mouse.

And it has become something so unbelievably successful. Thank you Walt Disney.

Here are some of my favourite Disney fairy tales (according to when they were released) and fables. :-)

Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs

Cinderella

The Sleeping Beauty

And this is my favourite princess, Ariel from The Little Mermaid.

Beauty and the Beast

Aladdin

Pocahontas

"This is so much fun!"
Tangled

Alice in the Wonderland

Bambi

Finding Nemo (Just keep swimming~ gosh Dory is so cute)

Monsters Inc

Tarzan

Lady and the Tramp

My point is that Disney used to produce such good films. And now Disney Channel Asia is airing films from Malaysia such as Waktu Rehat, Boboi Boy, Bola Kampung, Super Strikas and Upin and Ipin. Right right right? (i'm just imitating them) You've got to agree that these shows are quite crappy and meaningless. I'm just really unsatisfied that Disney has changed from all those to this. What happened? Why are they playing these shows instead of classic Disney shows? It used to be a good network years ago showing films with quality. Now Disney Channel is getting disappointing. These shows are ruining Disney's image.

So that's all. I'll be ending my post with Walt Disney's famous quote.

Happy 109th Birthday Walt Disney!

"I only hope that we don't lose sight of one thing - that it was all started by a mouse."

Trouble

So I had a really rough day today. Okay, it's not really me, it's more of my dog. My mum and I went out for breakfast this morning. When I returned home, I found a dental floss box lying on the floor. At that moment I knew he had eaten the floss because this has happened before! I saw a bit of string hanging out of his mouth and I started pulling it out really gently and slowly while patting his head and stroking his fur. I was so worried and panicky - because dental floss/any type of string can get tangled or caught in the intestines and cause serious and even fatal issues. Anyway, I managed to pull out some. And my dad came home to help because I can't really pull it out anymore. Somehow we did it. We got a lot of dental floss out. I'm really thankful to God because I prayed, hoping that he would be okay. And he is. :'-)

And I'm also going to talk about this game which I've finished playing called Ninja Love. I was really bored so I scrolled through the games in the app store and I happened to find that. The title sounds silly, but as the story progresses, the guy's character seems quite interesting. It's not that bad, really. It's a japanese anime dating sim. Dating sims are basically visual novels and there are lots of dialougues and the endings are different depending on which lines you pick. I like this sort of games because it puts you in the shoe of the main character.

Another thing is I used to have a NDS, but it's spoilt now. I played this game called Sprung, and it's also a dating sim. It's really fun and the graphics and storyline are really good so if you have a NDS, do download it!

Also, I've been staying at home so I got inspired by a short story in Tumblr so I thought of drawing a wolf (so random). It ended up like this.

Maybe the features don't look very proportionate but it is sort of or maybe at least a little bit similar looking to the picture at the right, right? Or maybe you can't even differenciate which is the real picture and which is the drawing! ;-)

Also brought Boy down yesterday. And look at how excited he was!

Smiling with his eyes closed.

He's so adorable and I can't get over it.

Lastly, I just want to say that it's December already (obviously), so I was thinking this year has just passed just like that. It seems so short. So yeap, I should make the best out of this last month of 2012.

Guess that's all. I'll be coming up with a rant post so be sure to check it out soon!

Ukulele time

Guess what I've been doing today. I met up with Si Rui to buy a ukulele and had lunch. Went over to my house after that. I taught her I'm Yours by Jason Mraz because the chords are pretty simple. And yeap we were practicing - how to strum etc. So let's hope she makes good progress after her trip to HK. :-) (Lol I sound like some music instructor.)

Okay, just a little bit.

Yup the small one is mine of course, and the one at the right is newly bought - Si Rui's. :-)

Anyway, since I'm always lazying around and wasting my time, I've decided to stop and make some plans for December.
  1. Use my handphone only when necessary.
  2. Stop sleeping so late and wake up on time.
  3. Do some homework and Sec 3 work everyday. (Hmmmm)
  4. Bring Boy out more often.
Yea that's what I have in mind. I hope I will stick to that. So that's all. It's a short post but I like things short and simple. :-) Will update soon (maybe).

Baking day

Hey.

So I've always wanted to bake deserts or anything sweet during the holidays, and I did!

So I searched for some recipes and it was actually hard to find because they don't really provide any mini apple crumble tart recipes. More of pies. So I mixed 2 recipes and added the another recipe for the tart base or whatever you call that. So yeap, that's how the first badge (and my very first try, along with my dad) looks like!

Didn't really go out this week but was really bored. Even got sick, but i'm much better now.

So here's the weekly X Factor news. (A little late but it still counts!)

My favourite contestant, Beatrice got eliminated. I was really disappointed because I really like her personality and her looks and almost everything about her. She's really likeable and a lovely sister. It's so sweet. The Thanksgiving performances were dedicated to their special someone. They were so heartfelt and I literally had goosebumps and cried along. And Diamond's performance was phenomenal, really. Carly's was great as usual. And that's all.

So tune in for more updates, which I'm sure to post because I'm really so bored at home.

Fads

So I've been really indecisive with my blog URLs, emails (no it's still the same), and Twitter username, but whatever. It's like a username which you think it's creative suddenly pops up in your mind and you think, "hey that's a pretty good idea", but really, it isn't. So I've returned with my same old username - sheryl13. I feel a little like a copycat, because I used to like Taylor Swift a lot and I like her favourite number as well, 13. And yep, that's how I came up with my email, my tumblr URL, and blogger URL.

The thing is: I don't think that copying others is a big deal. But it gets on your nerves if someone just copies off your idea without your permission repeatedly. Like copying once or twice, or thrice is alright. I mean it's normal that friends have the same taste in music, clothes etc.

But now?

I hate it when people wear certain clothes just because it's the hype. Seriously? There used to be a skinny jeans fad, wearing oversized sunglasses, and crocs, the trending shoes. Yes, crocs are really comfortable and convenient, but they tend to look a little hideous. No offence, really. The dark coloured ones look fine, but not the super bright coloured ones.

It's not only about fashion trends, it involves music artists as well. I wonder if the "fans" truly like their music, or it's because the music group is currently trending right now. Liking them because you want to fit in to a particular group? Or do you really appreciate their music? Like do you even understand what they are singing?

I'm just saying that everyone should just dress up or do things as what they truly like, not because it's trending right now.

Delightful Tuesday

I'm here with another update! Woke up early today, (yes I consider 9 pretty early and I should probably kick this bad habit of sleeping so late) and went to the library with Si Rui to get some homework done. It wasn't really that bad, just that I kept getting distracted by this game that I just downloaded yesterday which is pretty lame but cute.

My very own Ponyville!

Had lunch, walked around the mall and chatted a bit. And then we finally got to watch Pitch Perfect! It's something like Glee, but it's really aca-humorous. No really, it's very entertaining and funny, and great esp if you like music! :-)

These are some random pictures taken today.

Yes I look really unglam but it's okay (whatever).

Brought Boy for grooming yesterday (finally!!!). Look how obedient he is.

Bought Boy an early Christmas gift! He loves it. When he knew it was his, he kept jumping around and he doesn't want to give me his toy. So annoying.

So this is just a short post. I'm having a headache right now. Goodbye

Stripes today.
