How to roast marshmallows

So as you can see from the title of the post, here's a guide on how to melt marshmallows. (This is really silly and stupid but I don't care I'm gonna tell you how because I believe that some people don't know how to melt marshmallows just let me teach you it's so simple)

Step 1: find a plastic or wooden chopstick. Just one will do.

Step 2: You'll need marshmallows of course, and biscuits! I've chosen the Rocky Mountain brand and sugar coated biscuits. It cost around 5 to 6 dollars in total.

Step 3: turn on your stove to medium heat and just roast the marshmallows over the fire. But take note: wooden chopsticks might catch on fire easily (which happened to me no big deal oops). So maybe take a fondue fork with a plastic or wooden handle if you have one. And just roast them over the fire from a distance.

Step 4: Place the melted marshmallows onto the biscuits and there you have it!

It gives you a perfect crispy and chewy texture. You should really try it. It takes less than 5 minutes to do this. :-)

So I'm finished with my little guide on melting marshmallows haha. Here's a few pictures of the week.

This Ariel pen was given to me by my sister. Yes, I'm 16 and she's like 20 this year but who cares. It's so cute and it's Disney. It has 3 functions - blow bubbles, write, and it has a stamp on top.

Apparently, Si Rui and I went to this store at Queensway near our school (where we always run past during PE lesson) which is really quiet and spacious. Really a good place to relax and talk even though the food is of an ok standard. But it's not bad, really.

Lastly, this is the guy whom I always see every weekday morning when I go to school. Hahaha alright that's all.

Will try to update every weekend if possible.

Goodbye!

Deep in thought

First off, happy new year!

Actually I really did see the fireworks display at Marina Bay from a distance at my relatives' place. But anyway, so far the first 11 days of 2013 weren't very enjoyable. Just felt that this year didn't start off really well. Partly because my grandmother had a heart attack, and she's currently still staying in the hospital. I don't know what the other reasons are. They aren't definite. It's just a feeling I can't explain. A bad vibe, I suppose.

Spent my Saturday morning in school today. I woke up extremely early. (Yes I consider 5:20 very early even though I wake up at 5:30 every weekday for school but c'mon it's a Saturday!) Oh I forgot to mention that it was CCA fair today. And it's my last CCA fair. Mm to be honest, it was kinda boring. Walked around the school handing out flyers to sec 1 girls promoting my CCA. Yeap, as usual the whole school was really noisy, everyone was shouting, yippie.

And here's a picture of how my school looks like with CCA banners.

Went to Vivocity with Si Rui to buy my dad's birthday gift. His birthday is coming up. Actually it's the end of this month but I just wanted to get it early because I might be busy later on and he really deserves to get a good gift. I know when parents say they really don't need anything for their birthdays or Fathers'/Mothers' Day because they think that it's a waste of money, but no it really isn't the case. They really appreciate it if you get them a gift. A handmade one will do. Anything made by you. It really shows that you care for them, that they aren't forgotten, and that they hold a really important position in your life. Always remember it's the thought that counts.

Okay I got really distracted but it's my honest opinion. I took a really long time to decide which shirt to get. I ended up with this.

I really wanted to get the shirt which says "National Geographic" with their logo on it. But they only have that for kids! C'mon! That's like so simple and basic and they don't have it for adults?

Anyway they were having a 50% sales. I'm so lucky.

And thank you Si Rui. I know today hasn't been a really good day and the main reason to travel all the way there was to get my dad's gift and I appreciate it. :-)

So we went to Sentosa (again whoops) to make a ukulele cover of Try by Pink but apparently we got really annoyed because the weather was so hot and humid, and we walked so much just to get a quiet and shady spot only to have people coming to our spot (ok we don't own the place just saying) of the beach. It was empty at first alright!

Let me tell you the first few attempts was just like us staring into the camera awkwardly and then laughing at ourselves. Like really. It's hilarious. I watched every one of them after I got home. Yea, I can't really find a good cover cos the strumming sort of covered our voices. And it wasn't even quiet in the first place.

Here's a few pictures at the beach.

This was good.

That's all about today.

And I wanna share with you something because I'm quite busy with school lately and I don't know when I'd be able to update my blog again. :-) So here it goes. It may seem a little random but it's just my random thoughts.

Life is short. And that's what makes it precious. I often think to myself what do I want to accomplish before I die. And in order to achieve those things, I've got to make much more effort in my studies. Because some things can only be made possible if I had the money. And that means I'd need a good and stable job in the future. It's a sad reality that we all got to face. It also scares me a lot because I don't know what the future beholds.

And this may sound so boring but I don't care, it's my blog. I've found two proverbs which I really like from an English assignment.

1. "God helps those who help themselves."
We can't possibly just sit back and wait for God to help us with our problems. We have to do our best, and leave God to the rest. < I think I heard this is primary school when we were about to take an exam.

2. "Youth is wasted on the young."
When I was younger, I've always fascinated about how it's like to be an adult. Now? I really don't have much interest in it anymore. This quote just shows that young people aren't wise enough to know what they should be doing at their age when they are physically fit and healthy, when they still have the ability to do things that the older generation can't. But this older generation knows what they would've done if they were young again.

I hope I won't be using this quote once I've grown old. I don't want to live in regrets.

Okay, I don't know why but I seem pretty "deep" tonight. So that's all. Till then.

Christmas 2012

It's December 26, and yesterday was Christmas. So I'll start with Christmas eve first. I went out to have Macdonalds breakfast with my parents and my dog. And then we went out as a family to Shaw, Lido. Booked movie tickets for Jack Reaper earlier. Mmm the movie was complicated, but I enjoyed it thoroughly. Tom Cruise doesn't look that bad for 50 years old.

Walked around Orchard to see the Christmas decorations etc. And had dinner at Breeks Cafe.

It doesn't look very appealing but it was good!
Takashimaya

Here are the handmade cards I did the night before. I went to print a few photos at Harvey Norman before I got home. Okay I couldn't really find anything to give my family, but cards are okay right?

Me frowning with a Christmas hat.
Annoying sister smiling. :-D

Okay here's a tip.

Do not visit any tourist attraction during festive seasons.

Sentosa was really crowded. We planned to visit the newly built aquarium which cost like $29 per ticket for an adult but the queue was really long. So we went to the Underwater World, and the queue moved so slowly! Like the whole day was practically just queueing up and visiting the washroom oh my goodness. My sister was like saying the day before, "who visits the aquarium during Christmas?". Now we know. So many people.

So here are some pictures I snapped.  (It isn't worth it, don't visit. It's boring and not really fascinating except for the jellyfish.)

Cute little worms.
More sea creatures.
I love this. The jellyfish looked so pretty.

So that's how my Christmas went. Not very interesting. So I'll have my dinner now, I'm starving. Goodbye!

Disney

I've got to admit something. I'm quite a huge Disney fan. I love the fairy tales that Disney has produced over the past 60 years or so. I love the amazing animations, enchanting list of characters, and not to mention the songs as well. I even have a Disney princess song album which was kept with me since I was younger than 5 years old.

Disney makes movies with lasting impressions in our hearts. Like lessons are also taught during the movies. It doesn't matter whether you're an adult or still a kid, it's part of your childhood, that's something you can't deny. You know, I've rewatched these classic Disney movies so many times (okay I get a little sick of it) but they are really good.

It all started with a mouse.

And it has become something so unbelievably successful. Thank you Walt Disney.

Here are some of my favourite Disney fairy tales (according to when they were released) and fables. :-)

Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs

Cinderella

The Sleeping Beauty

And this is my favourite princess, Ariel from The Little Mermaid.

Beauty and the Beast

Aladdin

Pocahontas

"This is so much fun!"
Tangled

Alice in the Wonderland

Bambi

Finding Nemo (Just keep swimming~ gosh Dory is so cute)

Monsters Inc

Tarzan

Lady and the Tramp

My point is that Disney used to produce such good films. And now Disney Channel Asia is airing films from Malaysia such as Waktu Rehat, Boboi Boy, Bola Kampung, Super Strikas and Upin and Ipin. Right right right? (i'm just imitating them) You've got to agree that these shows are quite crappy and meaningless. I'm just really unsatisfied that Disney has changed from all those to this. What happened? Why are they playing these shows instead of classic Disney shows? It used to be a good network years ago showing films with quality. Now Disney Channel is getting disappointing. These shows are ruining Disney's image.

So that's all. I'll be ending my post with Walt Disney's famous quote.

Happy 109th Birthday Walt Disney!

"I only hope that we don't lose sight of one thing - that it was all started by a mouse."

Trouble

So I had a really rough day today. Okay, it's not really me, it's more of my dog. My mum and I went out for breakfast this morning. When I returned home, I found a dental floss box lying on the floor. At that moment I knew he had eaten the floss because this has happened before! I saw a bit of string hanging out of his mouth and I started pulling it out really gently and slowly while patting his head and stroking his fur. I was so worried and panicky - because dental floss/any type of string can get tangled or caught in the intestines and cause serious and even fatal issues. Anyway, I managed to pull out some. And my dad came home to help because I can't really pull it out anymore. Somehow we did it. We got a lot of dental floss out. I'm really thankful to God because I prayed, hoping that he would be okay. And he is. :'-)

And I'm also going to talk about this game which I've finished playing called Ninja Love. I was really bored so I scrolled through the games in the app store and I happened to find that. The title sounds silly, but as the story progresses, the guy's character seems quite interesting. It's not that bad, really. It's a japanese anime dating sim. Dating sims are basically visual novels and there are lots of dialougues and the endings are different depending on which lines you pick. I like this sort of games because it puts you in the shoe of the main character.

Another thing is I used to have a NDS, but it's spoilt now. I played this game called Sprung, and it's also a dating sim. It's really fun and the graphics and storyline are really good so if you have a NDS, do download it!

Also, I've been staying at home so I got inspired by a short story in Tumblr so I thought of drawing a wolf (so random). It ended up like this.

Maybe the features don't look very proportionate but it is sort of or maybe at least a little bit similar looking to the picture at the right, right? Or maybe you can't even differenciate which is the real picture and which is the drawing! ;-)

Also brought Boy down yesterday. And look at how excited he was!

Smiling with his eyes closed.

He's so adorable and I can't get over it.

Lastly, I just want to say that it's December already (obviously), so I was thinking this year has just passed just like that. It seems so short. So yeap, I should make the best out of this last month of 2012.

Guess that's all. I'll be coming up with a rant post so be sure to check it out soon!
