Overseas trip

I'm finally back from China and Hong Kong! China was honestly the coldest country I've ever visited and as much as I like to complain about how humid the weather in Singapore is, I try not to anymore because I currently have a different perspective on winter right now. The temperature range was -3°c to < 10°c and I was literally freezing because I wasn't feeling well. Apparently I missed the snow in Hangzhou but it's probably a good thing because I don't think I could have endured it.

Love the amazing scenery in the few places that I visited in China which included Hangzhou, Wuzhen, Xitang, Suzhou and Shanghai. Mainly travelled on buses and trains and went to a different province almost everyday which was pretty exhausting. And I hated to shower because I was unused to the cold weather. Also had to put on layers of clothing to keep me warm and the heater was my best friend haha. It was also quite hazy but still bearable.

Anyway here are the pictures to sum up my entire trip! -Which are arranged in order-

Cheesecake made by Brian's girlfriend, Anna
Shanghai

Received this in the mailbox from Lisa but didn't really expect it and it was a rather pleasant surprise! She's actually from Tumblr known as sexceptional and I left my address in her submission box even though it was kinda risky and as promised, she sent me a little quote which made my day. Also received Si Rui's letter haha I love handwritten letters.

Had loads of good food in Hong Kong as usual and I miss my relatives already. I also finally got a job at Red Cross which was recommended to me by my aunt and it's basically just data entry etc but I hope everything goes smoothly on my first day which is tomorrow.

Also gonna miss out on Christmas carolling #sigh but it's alright I guess. Till then! x

December updates #2

A little depressed right now because I just learnt that Shanghai is currently shrouded in haze and I'll be heading there for holiday. Praying that the air quality will get better.

Packed my luggage only today because I've a bad habit of leaving things to the last minute. Plus I fell sick yesterday night and I'm having flu + fever today. #sigh

Anyway, I watched Frozen with Si Rui before we met Denise and Claudia at MacDonalds on Tuesday. Enjoyed myself hehe didn't manage to get the bag that I wanted from Forever 21 yesterday but I bought a new book - The Fault in Our Stars.

I'm coming to get you Looking for Alaska :-D
Really tasty desserts from Paris Baguette. I really don't get why it's a Korean-run cafe when its theme is based in Paris.

Also wrote letters to Si Rui, Chia Lynn and Chang Ting recently it's sort of my farewell letter before I leave for Shanghai + HK later and I've set up a queue on Tumblr which is already activated yay.

Don't know why my posts are getting shorter but I promise to give updates with more content next time! x

December updates

Currently eating grilled cheese on burnt bread for dinner because I refused to help my parents pack and clean the store so I guess I'm getting what I deserve. But what I think I actually deserve is a part-time job because Si Rui and I have been job hunting and filling up application forms and going for interviews but still unemployed. I'm trying to be positive about this because I believe that God has a plan for us and that everything will work out so that's that really.

Watched Catching Fire recently and we were seated at the first row because the movie was recently released and we didn't book the tickets beforehand so we had to strain our necks and I was covering my ears half the time. The sound effects and visuals were a little overwhelming for me. Overall, the movie was great but the ending was abrupt.

Also made sandwiches and bought loads of healthy ingredients which I normally don't make an effort to buy.

Also went to The Grandstand or formally called The Turf City with Chia Lynn and Chang Ting but we just walked around. Didn't managed to buy much, only Twelve Cupcakes. The place is really cool and instagrammable and they look like European shops etc that explains the pricey menu.

Can't believe how fast time flies because I'll be leaving for Shanghai and Hong Kong this Friday and I'll probably update after that x
